This year’s Mr & Miss Cavendish pageant was held on Friday 22nd November, 2019 at Tirupati Mazima Mall in Kabalagala. The procession comprised a line-up of contestants from various Nationalities among whom were Congolese, Ugandans, South Sudanese, Rwandese and Nigerians.
Under the theme “Youth Empowerment in a Dynamic Society,” the competition intensified into a series of performances to depict the contestants’ unique talents, creativity, fashion sense, beauty, intelligence, among other attributes.
After an all-round show of what the audience described as extremely entertaining and elating, Lumbu Gaspard Serge (3rd year, Congolese, pursuing a Bachelor of Information Technology) and Amazone Mutazi Benedicte (2nd year, Congolese, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy) emerged Mr & Miss Cavendish respectively. They each received a grand prize of 1,500,000 shillings.
The 1st and 2nd runners up also walked away with 1,000,000 and 500,000 shillings respectively.
The event was sponsored by; Horizon Vibes of UBC, Campus 101 of Urban TV, Comrades Bar, Kadanke Brand House and Interswitch. Besides the runway fashion show, the audience was also entertained by ‘Spice Diana’, the evening’s Guest artist whose performance added more delight to the spectators.
