Airtel Uganda Appoints Cavendish University Graduate as New Director of Customer Experience



Joweria Nabakka, an accomplished MBA graduate from Cavendish University Uganda (CUU), has been selected by Airtel Uganda as the new Director of Customer Experience. This appointment marks a significant milestone in redefining customer experience and fostering innovation within the company.

Nabakka brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously held various roles at Airtel. She served as the Head of Revenue Planning and Geo Marketing at WARID Telecom and later at Airtel Tanzania for two years. Upon her return to Uganda in 2016, she assumed the role of overseeing the Data and Devices Portfolio in product development, a position she has excelled in ever since.

Nabakka played a pivotal role in the selection of the final product portfolio for Airtel Uganda during the merger of WARID and Airtel in 2013. Since her return, she has successfully launched end-to-end portfolio and customer USSD journeys. Her contributions include the successful launch of popular products such as Freaky Friday, Double Data, and Data My Pakalast, all of which have significantly contributed to Airtel’s growth. Her exceptional performance led to her transfer to Airtel Tanzania for two years to support in the same capacity.

Not only is Nabakka a familiar face and voice of the Airtel brand at major events in Uganda, but she also possesses an in-depth understanding of the telecommunications sector and the Airtel brand. She is a driving force behind ensuring that Airtel Uganda customers not only receive top-notch services but also enjoy partnerships that enhance their overall experience.

Nabakka holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Makerere University, an MBA from Cavendish University, and a CPA qualification. Her expertise and knowledge gained over the years will undoubtedly enable her to excel in her new role, which is designed to extend desired services to Airtel.
