Cavendish University Uganda (CUU) Law students held their 2nd Annual Law Society dinner at Golden Tulip Canaan, Kampala Hotel on Saturday 2nd November, 2019.
The Chief Guest was Her Lordship the Honourable Prof. Justice Lillian Tibatemwa- Ekirikubinza, a Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda and a member of the CUU University Advisory Council (UAC). She delivered a key note address on the theme: “The role of law students in the promotion of justice”.
Several Presidents of other societies of accredited Law Schools in Uganda such as (Makerere, Nkumba, UCU-Kampala, UCU-Mukono, KIU) also attended.
Other notable guests who also addressed the students included CUU’s Executive Director, Mr. David Mutabanura, the Past Vice President of the ULS, Ms Alice Namuli Blazevic and Founder of Legal Innovations Hub, Dr. Daniel Ruhweza, the President of the Uganda Christian Lawyers’ Fraternity, Ms Donna Ayebare Ssekitoleko (URA) and Dr. Olive Sabiiti (CUU’s Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Law Faculty).
Certificates were awarded to outstanding law students in various categories of excellence.
