Cavendish University Uganda Student Features as a Panelist at the Young Entrepreneurship Summit 2022



The 2022 Young Entrepreneurship Summit took place from the 13th to 14th of July at the Kampala Serena Hotel, under the Theme, “Fostering Economic Recovery and Building Entrepreneurial Resiliency.”

The summit which was organised by the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (CYE) Uganda hosted over 1,500 young entrepreneurs and women. CYE is a nationwide youth initiative aimed at inspiring a sustainable entrepreneurship culture.

Natasha Katondwaki, a student at Cavendish University Uganda was one of the panellists at the conference.

Natasha is the CEO and Co-founder of Waape, a revolutionary online platform that matches job seekers to employers within Africa.

“Waape has placed more than 100 people in more than 50 start-ups in Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya.” Natasha highlighted at the event.

The young CEO was also one of the top 1000 finalists in the 2021 UNDP Youth IDEATHON Seed Investment, an initiative designed to inspire, skill, mentor, and accelerate ideas from youth in all parts of Uganda.

Natasha is a Computer Science finalist at Cavendish University Uganda set to graduate at the University’s 11th Graduation on 25th August 2022.

The summit was opened by Hon. Mutasingwa Diana Kagyenyi, the Cabinet Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President of Uganda who represented the Vice President of Uganda, Hon. Jessica Rose Epel Alupo.

The event hosted among other notable speakers, Edwin Musiime, the President of the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, top CEOs, and other leading young entrepreneurs.

“We organize this summit annually in the belief that great results for a common shared economic future emerge from gathering unique young minds from hubs, incubators, entrepreneurship spaces, and start-ups across the country to share and examine new trends and insights, thereby unlocking opportunities,” Edwin Musiime, the President of the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, said at the launch.

The Young Entrepreneurship Summit is the largest gathering of entrepreneurs and the key stakeholders within the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Uganda bringing together more than 1000 unique minds annually from innovation hubs, incubators, entrepreneurs and start-ups who share their experiences, and examine new trends and insights.

The Summit is a great opportunity for exchange, networking and initiating partnerships where attendees get to learn from the most experienced and talented people in the entrepreneurship ecosystem across the country.

Uganda continues to hold a premium position among nations ranked highest in entrepreneurial rate in the world, and the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs Uganda believes sustainability is the key to strengthening this stance.
