Cavendish University Uganda Launches Rotaract Club



Renowned Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan has chartered with the Rotaract Club of Cavendish University Uganda (CUU).

The official launch was held on 1st May 2021 at Fairway Hotel to welcome the CUU rotaract club into the Rotary Fraternity after getting approval from Rotary International.

CUU Rotaract club under the guidance of the Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan will play a big role in career and leadership development and enable the students to connect with over 2 million Rotarians around the world.

The Charter is aimed at imparting leadership skills and the spirit of service above self to students” remarked, Rotarian Emmanuel Muwonge, the patron and the brain behind the formation of the rotaract club.

Rotarian Emmanuel Muwonge is a principal advocate at Katende Ssempebwa & Co Advocates (KATS) who doubles as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Cavendish University Uganda.

In his address, Mr. Muwonge recognized the support of the Cavendish University top management with special acknowledgement to the Executive Director, Mr. David Mutabanura and Ms. Hope Byachi, the Dean of Students at CUU who also played an instrumental role in mobilizing and encouraging the students to be a part of the rotaract initiative.

In attendance was the President of Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan, Rotarian Denis Mudola who reiterated that the merger will facilitate continuity of dedicated values of Rotary with core being service above self.

Other prominent Rotarians present included; Rotarian Ronald Mulindwa, the District Youth Service Chair), Rotarian Marion Natukunda (District Youth Exchange officer) Rotarian Franscisco Semwanga (District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) D9214), Rotarian Ronald Kawaddwa (District Membership Chair) and Rotarian Jakob Ssendawula (Past District Rotaract Representative) among others.
