2018 Graduation



The 9th Graduation Ceremony of Cavendish University Uganda was held on Friday, April 20th, 2018 at the Commonwealth Speke Resort, Munyonyo. Over 1000 students graduated from the Faculties of Law, Socio-Economic Sciences, Science and Technology and the School of Postgraduate Studies.

The day was filled with pomp and ceremony, starting with the procession that was led by the University Chancellor; H.E. Benjamin W. Mkapa, former president of the People’s Republic of Tanzania; and interspersed with various local dances. The theme for the day, University Education as a Tool for the Transformation of Society, was expounded in various forms by the guest of honour, Hon. Betty Kamya, Minister for Kampala; the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John F. Mugisha and the Chairman, University Council, Prof. Olubayi Olubayi.

For their part, students excitedly took pictures, clapped for themselves and their colleagues and danced as soon as the opportunity presented itself.
