CUU Staff Promoted to Associate Professorship



During the 12th Graduation, two Cavendish University Uganda (CUU) staff; Associate Professor Olutayo Osunsan and Associate Professor Martha Kibuuka Musoke, were promoted to the esteemed rank of professorship.

As CUU, we take immense pride in the accomplishments of our esteemed faculty members. Their promotion to professorship not only reflects their individual success but also highlights the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and nurturing exceptional talent.

Assoc. Prof. Martha Kibuuka Musoke

Associate Professor Martha Kibuuka Musoke holds a Doctorate degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University of South Africa.

Her academic career spans over 15 years in teaching and has made significant scholarly contributions with close to 20 Publications.  She has a wealth of experience in human resource development and has also developed programmes and interventions for combating child labour.

She is a committed to lifelong learning, has attended several conferences and has undertaken over 15 short certificate courses in various disciplines. She has always emerged among the best lecturers in the Lecturer Evaluation Surveys by students.

Until recently she was a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Socio-economic Sciences and also serves as the Secretary to the Cavendish Journal of Social Sciences and Management. She was initially promoted by UTAMU to Assoc. Professorship and this was recognised by CUU after undertaking due diligence.

Assoc. Prof. Olutayo Osunsan

 

Associate Professor Olutayo Kadmiel Osunsan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Business Management) and Master of Business Administration from Kampala International University.

He has over 23 years of teaching experience and has served at Cavendish University Uganda since 2016. He has demonstrated teaching excellence and received the award of Outstanding Lecturer for the year 2022 attributed to his exceptional student centricity and commitment to teaching and learning.

He has made significant research contributions with over 25 publications, has contributed to two book chapters and written 10 books of which 5 are self-help books and the rest fiction.  He has supervised over 30 students and of these 3 were PHD students.

Assoc. Professor Olutayo Osunsan has given significant time in service to the University as a Research coordinator and member of the Faculty Promotions Committee and as an Editorial Board member of the Cavendish University Social Sciences and Management Journal.

He is a distinguished lifelong learner. He has attended several conferences with over 15 short courses in difference subjects. He was initially promoted by KIU to Assoc. Professorship and this was recognised by CUU after undertaking due diligence.

Following their promotion, the two professors were subsequently unveiled during the 12th graduation ceremony with approval by Chairman of University Council, to be ratified later by the University Council.

The University Council, Senate, and Faculty of Cavendish University Uganda extend their heartfelt congratulations to Associate Professor Olutayo Osunsan and Professor Martha Kibuka Musoke on their well-deserved milestone, and commends the two for their exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Their remarkable achievements serve as a testament to their profound knowledge, expertise, and contributions to their respective fields.
