Béni Mushayuma, a graduate of Cavendish University Uganda (CUU), joined the World Bank Treasury Department as a Junior Analyst after successfully completing the Treasury Summer Internship program for the cohort 2022-24.
The World Bank Treasury Department offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students worldwide to work at the intersection of finance, innovation, and international development. It is one of the few opportunities available within the World Bank Group for students pursuing their undergraduate programs.
The Treasury Summer Internship program brings together exceptional college students with a keen interest in a financial career to support the World Bank’s development goals. This program lays a foundation for interns to become Junior Analysts, a two-year position within the Treasury team. Each intern is assigned a different rotation schedule to ensure a diverse and enriching experience.
Béni Mushayuma graduated from Cavendish University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance. During his time at Cavendish, he held the positions of Guild Minister, Campus Affairs from 2018-2019, and Minister of Internal & External Affairs, Congolese Association from 2017-2018.
When asked about his experience, Mushayuma expressed his pleasant surprise at the diversity within the World Bank Treasury department, which made him feel comfortable throughout the rigorous training process. He stated, “There are no limits to what you can learn. I had a narrow view of finance until I joined Treasury.”
Following the successful completion of the Treasury Summer Internship program, Béni Mushayuma was appointed as a Junior Analyst in the Debt Origination Treasury team for the World Bank in Washington, DC.
