The blended Vice Chancellors’ meeting was held at Cavendish University Uganda (CUU) on Monday, 13th February 2023 and attracted Vice Chancellors, Regulators and Heads of Institutions from across the country to deliberate on matters pertaining to higher education.
The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) is a dedicated group of Vice Chancellors and Heads of Institutions in Uganda that promotes the sharing of knowledge, information and best practices to promote university education.
During the event, the outgoing Executive Director of the Vice Chancellors’ forum, Prof. Paul Mugambi, handed over the baton to the incoming Executive Director, Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, former Vice Chancellor of Ndejje University. The members in attendance appreciated Prof. Mugambi for his dedicated leadership of the Forum since 2014.
Among the special guests at the meeting was a team from The Education Collaborative (EduCollab), a network of higher education institutions collectively working to improve educational systems and student outcomes on the African continent. The Education Collaborative is based in Ghana at Ashesi University.
The EduCollab team was led by their Executive Director, Ms. Rose Dodd and accompanied by Ms. Lizzie Chongoti, the East Africa Regional Hub Director, and other members of her team. They met with different Vice Chancellors from both private and public Universities in Uganda in a bid to engage with them deeper in order to grow their East Africa Regional footprint.
The meeting’s agenda also included presentations from the National Council for Higher Education representatives and discussions from the National Curriculum Development Centre.
