The Hult Prize Regional Competitions in Nairobi, Kenya

Cavendish University students together with 40 other teams from across the globe participated in the Regional Hult Prize Entrepreneurship Competitions in Nairobi – the world most popular and biggest students’ competition for social good from 19th- 21st April, 2019.

Competing students were encouraged to design projects aiming at solving a pressing social issue around topics such as food security, water access, energy, and education. The winning team, Rhodes University, South Africa was given USD 1 million in seed capital to launch their social enterprise.

Mr. Peter Kagunye (CEO Maarifa) and Mr. Reginald Rainey (Maarifa Operations Director) checked on the CUU students in Nairobi and treated them to an evening out with financial support.

The CUU team developed an App to monitor public transport system where motor vehicle owners and inspectors will keep an eye on where their vehicles are, the speed at which they are running and how people are being treated.
