Cavendish University Uganda marks another significant milestone in student governance with the swearing-in of the 2025/2026 Guild Leadership, headed by the newly elected Guild President, Ssenyoga Prosper. This event ushers in a renewed commitment to principled service, academic excellence, and transformative engagement within the university community.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Dr Olive Sabiiti and the Executive Director, Mr David Mutabanura, who delivered encouraging addresses, emphasising the importance of integrity, accountability, and visionary leadership. In a key moment of the proceedings, the Vice Chancellor administered the oath of office to the new Guild Cabinet, formally instating all nominated members.
The Electoral Commission (Elcom) conducted a meticulous, constitutionally guided electoral process, culminating in the official announcement of the newly elected members of the Guild Representative Council (GRC). Under the guidance of the 17th Guild Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mansur Abubakar, the Council carried out a thorough vetting of the 17th Guild Cabinet nominees, ensuring full compliance with the Cavendish University Uganda Guild Constitution.
All approved nominees, demonstrated exceptional competence, integrity, and academic distinction, reflecting their preparedness to assume their respective responsibilities. Their appointments affirm a collective commitment to advancing student welfare, enhancing representation, and implementing initiatives with lasting impact on campus life.
With Ssenyoga Prosper at the helm, the 2025/2026 Guild Leadership is positioned to champion student interests, foster inclusivity, and spearhead transformative change across Cavendish University Uganda. Guided by principles of accountability and visionary governance, the team is set to enrich the student experience and strengthen the wider university community.
