Master of Education in Educational Management

The MED is a programme designed with the needs of the education world and students in mind. The world requires enterprising men and women who can take stock of the changing competitive environment and make critical decisions concerning effective and efficient strategy formulation and implementation. The program is designed for working professionals, the candidates participate in a cohort consisting of administrative teams that address a practical case study while building capacity in areas of leadership equity and excellence; transformational change; collaborative decision making; inquire and reflective practice. Such interactions will develop candidates’ skills and knowledge base to solve practical problems encountered in educational organizations.

The Masters programme lasts for two academic years.

Career Objective

The goal of the Master of Education degree in Educational Management is to provide students with a wide range of skills, knowledge and attitudes to respond to the needs of Educational institutions for effective management and development.

  1. To stimulate, broaden and deepen the teachers intellectual and technical growth as well as their understanding of the developmental stages and needs of the learners they teach;
  2. To prepare educators / teachers and managers of education with adequate knowledge, skills and command of issues necessary for designing, implementing, supervision and evaluation of programs.
  3. To produce highly-motivated, conscientious and effective managers who are able to engage in the production of human resource to meet the demands of the community;
  4. To cultivate a sense of national consciousness, patriotism and allegiance to the professional code of conduct as educators;
  5. To prepare teachers adequately for efficiency in educational administration, management, evaluation and measurement;
  6. To prepare professionals for leadership who will advocate for harmonious development by striving for spiritual maturity, mental excellence and physical wel being.
