The Students, Staff, and Members of the Cavendish University Uganda Community,
RE: WELCOME TO THE 2025 ACADEMIC YEAR
I extend a huge welcome to our new and returning members of the student, faculty, and staff community as we start a new academic year. I am deeply honoured to lead this exceptional community of professionals, scholars, educators, and learners into 2025, a year poised with opportunities for growth and transformation.
Over the past year, we have achieved remarkable milestones. From hosting distinguished academic events to earning accolades that reaffirm our commitment to excellence to our students excelling and standing out on national, regional and global platforms, our university has continued to shine as a beacon of quality higher education in Uganda and beyond. These accomplishments reflect the collective dedication of our faculty, staff, and students, and I extend my heartfelt appreciation to each of you for your contributions.
To our new students, welcome to a university that puts you at the centre of everything we do. You have chosen Uganda’s most international and culturally diverse university, student-centred and dedicated to nurturing your potential and ensuring that you become employable, entrepreneurial, and ethical leaders during your time with us. As you embark on this new journey, remember that you are not alone; we are here to support you every step of the way, making you feel welcomed and reassured as you strive for academic and personal success.
To our returning students, faculty, and staff, I want to express my gratitude for your resilience and commitment. Your dedication is the backbone of our community, and I am confident that together, we will continue to work towards a culture of excellence and innovation.
We are starting the year on a high note by opening our new green campus in Mukono, where students of higher education certificate, public health and environmental health science programmes will conduct their classes this semester. We strive to provide the best possible environment for your academic and personal growth. The Mukono campus will offer more space, excellent lecture rooms, laboratories, library and other facilities, a beautiful, green environment, and a more conducive learning environment for all our students, where you can learn, collaborate, and thrive.
This year, we are dedicated to sustaining and advancing the achievements that define our institution. With this commitment in mind, our annual theme is: “Sustaining Growth through Collaboration, Innovation, and Internationalisation,” reflecting our unwavering focus on building strong partnerships, driving innovative solutions, and expanding our global reach. Together, we will create an environment where creativity flourishes, tackle challenges with resilience, and chart a path toward sustainable progress through collective effort and a shared vision for excellence.
I want to highlight some critical academic calendar dates that will be integral to your planning and success during 2025.
