Librarian Ms Alice Okure Akiteng is the University Librarian a role she serves with great interest, dedication and passion. She holds a Bachelors in Library and Information Sciences obtained from Makerere University, Kampala, a Diploma in Computer Science from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi; and a Masters in Information Systems from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi. Prior to joining Cavendish University Uganda, Alice worked with Uganda Martyrs University as Assistant Librarian (August 2001- July 2008), she joined International Health Sciences University as Senior Assistant Librarian (July 2008 – August 2014) after which she was promoted to Deputy University Librarian (August 2015 – July 2016). She held the position of Deputy University Librarian for one year and was appointed as University Librarian (IHSU) in August 2016 – February 2017). Having served in the above positions in IHSU from July 2008 – February 2017, she resigned and joined the CUU family in February 2017. Among the libraries she has planned and actively participated in setting up are the Archbishop Kiwanuka Memorial Library, Victoria University Library, Virtual University of Uganda library and Gulu Vocational Training College that opens towards the end of 2017. She lives on the philosophy of
guiding others to become better.
