From the Pitch to the Podium: Cavendish University’s Fredrick Mufta Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award



Fredrick Mufta, Sales and Marketing Director at Cavendish University Uganda and former FIFA referee, was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by Real Stars Sports Agency in a ceremony held on Tuesday, 04th March 2025. This recognition celebrates his extraordinary 15-year career as a football referee, during which he officiated numerous high-profile matches that have left an indelible mark on the football community, including the iconic Zamalek vs. Al Ahly clash in Cairo.

Mufta, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award, stating, “The Lifetime Achievement Award is humbling. I am shocked to receive it. This is my first.” His career, spanning nearly two decades, was marked by his professionalism, fitness, and commanding presence on the field. Beyond his refereeing accomplishments, Mufta has remained an advocate for a healthy lifestyle. Even after retiring in 2013, he continues to train daily and immerse himself in football by analysing matches. Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledged key figures who shaped his career, including fellow referees and football administrators.
