CUU Staff Graduates with Doctor of Laws from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa



The Cavendish University Uganda (CUU) family congratulates the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Daniel Walyemera, on graduating with a degree of Doctor of Laws- Criminal Justice from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa. He conducted a thesis on, “The Investigation and prosecution of corruption in Uganda.”

Dr. Walyemera was the only one conferred with a Doctoral degree from the Faculty of Law at the Virtual UWC 2021 Graduation ceremony which was held on 17th September 2021.  UWC also conferred 7 Master’s degrees, 9 Honours degrees and postgraduate certificates and over 30 degrees, diplomas and certificates from the Faculty of Law at the same event.

The University of the Western Cape is a National University, located in Cape Town, South Africa. Drawing on its proud experience in the liberation struggle, UWC has been in the vanguard of South Africa’s historic change, playing a distinctive academic role in helping to build an equitable and dynamic nation.

Doctoral education has become of paramount significance in a world where knowledge is the new ‘fuel’. To Cavendish University, Dr. Walyemera’s pinnacle achievement has been met with a lot of anticipation for what he will do next and how the Faculty of Law will tap into his enhanced transferrable skills and access to professional networks to rise to even higher heights.
