Cavendish University Uganda’s Emmanuel Muwonge Installed as President, Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan 2021-2022



On 22nd May 2021, the Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan unveiled their new President, Rotarian Emmanuel Muwonge.

Mr. Emmanuel Muwonge who is our lecturer of Law at Cavendish University Uganda and also a principal advocate at Katende Ssempebwa & Company Advocates (KATS) becomes the 6th President of the Rotary club of Kampala Metropolitan since it was chartered on 28th April 2016 by Rotary International (RI). His term in office takes effect from 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022.

Rotarian (Rtn) Muwonge was installed by Cavendish University Uganda’s Executive Director, Mr. David Mutabanura who officiated as the Chief Guest at the installation ceremony which was held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala, Uganda.

As Club President, Rtn Emmanuel Muwonge will lead and motivate his club, ensuring that club members feel valuable, inspired, and connected to each other and to the community. He pledged to ensure continuity in leadership, service and community intervention projects to keep the Rotary Motto of “Service above Self” alive.

Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan has participated in several community intervention projects at the Naguru go-down village in Kampala and is currently undertaking a rehabilitation project at the Orthopaedic spine ward at Mulago Hospital. It is also the Mother club of the Rotaract Club of Cavendish University Uganda. Both clubs convene every Friday at Fairway Hotel at 7 PM to deliberate on how to create a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.

The Installation ceremony was very well attended by several Rotarians from various clubs in Uganda and well-wishers. The past five Presidents of the Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan were all in attendance and these included; Rtn Denis Mudoola, Rtn Ronald Mulindwa, Rtn Joe Nuwamanya, Rtn Reagan Namanya and Rtn Joan Nanyonjo.
