Andrew Ddembe, Co-Founder & CEO MobiKlinic
Andrew’s passion for social justice and health equity stems from personal experiences. “I lost my grandmother due to the poor health system in rural areas,” he shares. This loss ignited a desire to address the disparities he also witnessed during his travels across sub-Saharan Africa, where many rural communities face daunting challenges in accessing healthcare.
In early 2019, Andrew’s innovative idea won the Sandoz HACk, a global health access ideas challenge, providing him with seed funding of €20,000 ($21,800) to develop MobiKlinic further. Today, MobiKlinic serves townships across Uganda and continues to expand its reach.
Andrew’s journey exemplifies the power of youth leadership and innovation in addressing critical global challenges. The Cavendish fraternity congratulates Andrew on his remarkable achievements and for inspiring change across the continent.
