Call for Papers- CULJ, Vol.5



The Editorial Board of the Cavendish University Law Journal, calls for well-researched articles for publication in its Fifth Edition from academics, Scholars, Jurists, Legal practitioners and students. Submissions should follow the Submission Guidelines of the journal and they will be peer reviewed appropriately.  The Editorial Board calls for submissions on a rolling basis.

Submissions are welcome on any relevant topics, including but not limited to:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Law
  • Regional Integration and the Law
  • Technology and the Law
  • Human Trafficking and transnational crimes
  • Cyber Crime and the Enforcement regimes
  • Refugee Law
  • Contemporary Human Rights Issues

Submission of abstracts and timelines

Authors interested in submitting a paper to the Cavendish University Law Journal should submit abstract of 500 words by 30th September 2025. Abstracts should contain the title of the paper, a short description of its focus, the methodology to be adopted, a brief overview of the issues to be explored; and the expected findings. 

Submissions should be emailed to gayeranga@cavendish.ac.ug  and copied to nmugarura@cavendish.ac.ug. All correspondences concerning articles and other submissions should be addressed to Mr. Ayeranga Godfrey, (secretary of the Editorial Board) at gayeranga@cavendish.ac.ug  and copied to Prof. Norman Mugarura nmugarura@cavendish.ac.ug.

Decisions on abstracts will be communicated by 30 September 2025.
Draft manuscripts of accepted abstracts are expected by 30 October 2025.

Submission guidelines of the Draft Manuscripts

  1. The Journal shall be published in the English language.
  2. The articles should be ranging between 8,000-10,000 words.
  3. Submissions should be original and unpublished work, and should not have been published elsewhere.
  4. The articles should contain an abstract of not more than 500 words.
  5. The articles should contain the author’s name, affiliation and qualification
  6. Authors are to ensure that their articles are not plagiarized works, and do not infringe the copyright of other authors.
  7. Citations must conform to the OSCOLA Referencing Style (4th ed.).

Form of Publication of the Journal

  • The Journal is purely online and will also be available on the Cavendish University Uganda’s website at https://www.cavendish.ac.ug/
  • The Journal is open-access
