Beyond the Degree: CUU Commissions 2026 Cohort to Champion Career Excellence

At Cavendish University, employability is not left to chance, it is cultivated with intention. On Thursday, 27th February 2026, the University marked a significant milestone in its career development agenda with the commissioning of the 2026 Cohort of Peer Career Coaches a distinguished team of second- and third-year students selected from across all faculties.

This cohort represents more than a group of student leaders; they embody Cavendish’s commitment to embedding career readiness within the academic journey. Through the Peer Career Coaching Programme, the University leverages peer influence as a powerful tool to scale professional development support and ensure that career guidance is accessible, faculty-specific, and impactful.

Over an intensive four-week training programme, the coaches were equipped with practical expertise in career planning, CV and cover letter development, professional communication, personal branding, mentorship ethics, and employability strategy. The training focused not only on technical knowledge, but also on cultivating confidence, integrity, and leadership in career mentorship.

The commissioning ceremony formally transitioned the cohort into active service as Career Services ambassadors within their respective faculties. They are now engaging fellow students through structured peer coaching, strengthening career clarity, building professional confidence, and advancing workplace readiness across the University community.

This initiative reinforces Cavendish University’s deliberate mission to produce graduates who are both academically accomplished and globally competitive. By institutionalizing peer-led career support, CUU continues to strengthen its employability ecosystem — ensuring that every student graduates not only with a degree, but with direction, competence, and the confidence to thrive in the world of work.
